Italy Tour - Press Release
18th February 2011

Robb was rushed into Hospital on Thursday 17th February with Kidney stones. Although the illness is far from Life threatening he is in extreme discomfort. The Doctors have advised that he stay in Hospital until they can carry out the medical procedure necessary to cure the pain. Robb was still optimistic but on Friday they refused him permission to fly. He is absolutely devastated that he will not be able to travel to Italy for the shows.

After a lot of discussions with the promoter and at Robb's request, the rest of the band agreed to play as a four piece. This will be a unique chance to see the band and one that will hopefully never be repeated. We realise it will be different, but please still join us for a great night of Rock music and I can promise we will have some fun at these unusual shows. We will still be selling the full range of Tygers merchandise which is already in Italy.

Due to the events on Thursday the planned posting of the Spellbound Sessions EP did not happen, these will now be sent on Tuesday 22nd February on our return from Italy.

Thank you to you all for your understanding in the above,

Tygers

'The Spellbound Sessions' Release Date & Details...
26th January 2011

February 19th 2011 will see Tygers of Pan Tang release a special 6 Track CD EP 'The Spellbound Sessions' to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of their Iconic 1981 release 'Spellbound'. Following on from last year's celebration of the Wildcat Album and after receiving fantastic feedback from the fans the band decided to continue with this concept of celebrating the past.

Robb Weir (Guitarist & Founder) says "I am very proud of the bands history as well as the current line up of the band. This EP as did 'The Wildcat Sessions' gives an opportunity to celebrate and record some of my favourite songs and to remember the past through the current line up. We should never forget the Tygers History and I hope this shows the band will always recognise the early days of the band. 'Spellbound' was a new era for the band in 1981 and after the success of 'Wildcat' we had to follow on with something special which I think we did. There are a lot of bands that want to modernise their sound or image and forget what
made them great in the beginning, I am not one of them."

The CD is a limited Edition of 1000 copies and will be made available to the Tyger Force fan club from the 10th February.

The CD will be available for general sale from the website shop from the 19th February 2011, www.tygersofpantang.com priced at £5.95 + posting.

The Track Listing will be:-

Gangland
Take it
Hellbound
Mirror
Tyger Bay
Don't Stop By

All songs have been re-recorded and re-mixed by Tygers of Pan Tang 2011.

The bands full live set during 2011 will include all songs from 'The Spellbound Sessions'.

'The Spellbound Sessions' Press Release

20th December 2010

January 2011 will see the Tygers go into the studio to record a special EP to celebrate 30 years since the release of their iconic album release `Spellbound`. The EP will be titled 'The Spellbound Sessions' and include 6 songs from the original album re-recorded by the current Tygers line up.

The songs the band have chosen are:

1. Hellbound
2. Don't Stop By
3. Tyger Bay
4. Gangland
5. Take it
6. Mirror

All these tracks will be completely re-recorded.

2010 saw the band record 'The Wildcat Sessions' EP and the feedback was fantastic so the band wanted to continue with this concept. The band have always respected their past releases which form the majority of the live show set so it is a fitting tribute.

The recording will be completed in January 2011 and then following the licence application and manufacture should be available from the webshop from early February. We will be holding the price the same as `The Wildcat sessions` at £5.00 + posting. The EP will also be available at the live shows during 2011.

Comment From Mick Box (Uriah Heep)
12th October 2010

As reported below (5th Oct), Mick came down to see the band at the Underworld in London and posted the following on his personal MySpace site:-

'On Friday night I went to Camden Town to see the “Tygers of Pang Tang” play at the venue called The Underworld. Brian West our Bass, Keyboard and Stage Manager is the Bass Player, so I thought I would check them out. I am very glad I made the effort, as they were great. It was a most enjoyable night, and I came away well impressed. They are all excellent players, and the vocalist was spot on, and they connected with the audience very well. Check them out on their website http://tygersofpantang.com/ they rocked the Underworld big time, and it was professional, slick, straight ahead, and most definitely in your face. I loved it!' Mick Box (Uriah Heep) 2010

We would like to thank Mick for not only taking the time to come down and check out the Tygers but also for his kind words.

Special Show Gateshead with ODS 9th October
4th October 2010

Just a quick Blog to remind everyone of the upcoming show at the Lancastrian Suite in Gateshead on Saturday 9th October. It will be a great show on home ground and who better to play with than ODS.

We are really looking forward to meeting up with the guys again, it will have been nearly 30 years since Robb shared the stage with Graham Oliver and Steve Dawson. That was when the Tygers supported Saxon on the Wheels of Steel Tour and a Tour we still receive a lot of comments about. Although line ups have changed this will still be a night of great British Rock by two of the bands who were at the forefront of the NWOBHM movement in 1980.

Tickets are still available or you can pay on the night. Please contact the lancastrian suite for more details on info@thelancastriansuite.com

See you all there

The Diamond Rock Club - Ballymena, Northern Ireland
24th May 2010

The band would like to thank everyone who came to the show on Saturday Night, it was a fantastic atmosphere & reception from you guys and very welcome. Considering the expenses most of you would have incurred last week with some high profile shows going on in Belfast with Matallica and Kiss, your support was greatly appreciated. We understand in these economic hard times money is not freely flowing so it makes it all that more appreciated.

We would also like to make a special mention for Derwin, Fiona, Nigel and everyone associated with the Diamond Rock Club for the courtesy and first class hospitality shown to us. You thought of everything.

For those who do not know the Diamond Rock Club and live in Northern Ireland, check them out and get involved with your support. They are real fans of Rock & Metal and have live music most weekends. The club has a fantastic atmosphere, every one knows each other and big plans to get more touring bands to play as well as Northern Irelands finest.

The venue is linked in our top friends on the offical Tygers of Pan Tang myspace site.

Thanks Again

Birmingham Show Cancelled
10th May 2010

Unfortunately the Birmingham Asylum show has been pulled by the promoter. This was due to a number of issues and contractual concerns. I want to stress that this was entirely there decision and not ours. Can I ask that those of you who intended going consider the Tackeroo club in Cannock on the 30th May which is not a million miles away. We would like to apologies for yet another cancellation but in these uncertain times and the future of the live music club circuit these things do happen.

Rush Fest update
9th May 2010

Unfortunately the promoter is still having issues with the local council to gain the necessary licence for the event to go ahead. Can I suggest if you planned on attending or live within the constituancy voice your displeasure directly to the council. Its promoters such as Adrian who is trying to keep music live and he deserves our support.

Please see below the statement issued:-

I thought I would drop you a line to let you know that we are experiencing serious issues with the council.

On Tuesday this week we set up a sound check on the pitch to do a noise assessment. It raised a serious issue in that the levels were far to high for the regulations. It has meant that we have had to postpone this event yet again???

The council however do want it to go ahead and we a relooking to hold it in the adjacent rec next to our ground. I have another noise assessment being done next week. There is a smaller event like this being held there by the council in 2 weeks time and therefore the precedence is already set.!

It is very frustrating for all involved including us, as we have now spent £20k on a website, promotions etc. I have Ticketmaster ready to go, eagle radio, surrey add and also Rocketuk ready to press the button.

I am confident that we can actually hold this event and I will come back to you once I have confirmation from the council that they are happy to proceed.

Warmest regards

Aidan

Keep it True Festival 13
9th May 2010

We would like to Thank everybody who attended the festival for the incredible reception you gave the band last Saturday, we were blown away by the whole experience. Leading up to the Festival there were bands pulling out due to the Iceland Volcano but we were determined to play no matter what and any band who did not make it missed out on a very special two days. We will remember the festival for a very long time.

Festivals in Europe such as Keep it True, Heavy Metal Maniacs, Headbangers Open Air and hundreds of others are what keeps our music alive. These festivals are organised by true fans who spend thousands of hours of there time dedicated to the music they love. Our thanks go to every organisor as without you we would not get the chance to play our music.

If you get the chance, support your local festival and keep them all alive.

Thanks Again to Everybody

The Wildcat EP Sessions Update 3
12th April 2010

We are pleased to announce that all pre-orders of the EP have now been sent out. Dependant upon where you live in the world you should receive the EP at some point this week. We would like to sincerely apologies for the delay in getting this CD out to you, this was due to some issues we had and announced a while ago with the licence red tape.

To compensate you for this delay we have added an extra disk for you in the package which will hopefully make amends. We are always keen that you guys are looked after and it was the least we could do as the delay was unforseen.

Hope you like the EP and bonus disk,

Regards

Tour Date Changes
12th April 2010

There has been some alterations to the May touring schedule. We are now playing the Rush Fest at Farnborough FC (Classic Rock Day) which has now changed again to 29th May (confirmed). You will notice that we have two shows on the 29th May which will be a first for the band. If you want to catch the band at Farnborough get there early as we will be playing early on the bill. We will then be loading up and travelling to Wales to play Party in the Pub for the Patriot Bike Club as the headlining act.

Sadly the NWOBHM Festival at The Robin 2, Bilston has had to be cancelled. Praying Mantis had to unfortunately pull out due to being booked for the Sweden Rock Festival. Also the event was taking place on the same day as the Download Festival and we received a lot of emails regarding this. We are not sure of the situation as regards to re-booking the event but will keep you posted as it was a Marseille booking. If you had tickets and you want an alternative to see the band then check us out at Birmingham or Cannock in May on the tour. We only planned to play 45 minutes at Bilston so you will get a full set list of songs at the other venues.

Thanks for your continued support

"The Wildcat Sessions" Two Thousand and Ten EP
4th Feb 2010

Little Monster Logo
The Tygers are delighted to announce that the recording & mixing of the forthcoming EP "The Wildcat sessions" is now complete and we are very pleased with the end result. In particular with the recorded sound achieved, it really does capture the early 80s NWoBHM spirit and feel we were looking for. To achieve that raw almost 'live' vibe to the sound we even replicated the microphone positioning that was used on the original recording.

As a celebration of the 30th Year Anniversary since the original release we wanted to remind those fans who've not played the Wildcat album for some time just how good the songs were. The album was recognized as an underground classic entering the UK charts at number 15 and considered one of the leading debut releases of 1980.

The running order on the EP is:-
  • Euthanasia
  • Slave to Freedom
  • Suzie Smiled
  • Don't Touch Me There
