Tygers 2010 - Wildcat 30th
Anniversary!!
2010 will see the
Tygers of Pan Tang celebrate the
30th Anniversary of the 'Wildcat'
album, the bands first and most
iconic recording. The album was
released during the hay-day of the
NWOBHM movement and captures the
real spirit of the music scene in
the UK in 1980. The band at the time
was a young four piece and after
charting in the UK top forty albums
at No 15 this album proved to be the
springboard for three more albums in
two years with various line ups
until the band decided to disband in
1983.
Robb Weir who originally formed the
band in 1978 has resurrected the
Tygers with a new line up
culminating in the release of the
album 'Animal Instinct' in 2008 to
worldwide critical acclaim. As
'Wildcat' is very close to Robb's
heart we have decided to pick his
top five tracks and re-record these
to celebrate and remind the fans of
the quality of the album which may
have been long forgotten.
The songs will be re-arranged to
utilise modern technology and
recorded by the 2010 line-up:-
Rob Weir - Guitars
Dean Robertson - Guitars
Brian West - Bass
Craig Ellis - Drums
Jacopo Meille - Vocals
The songs to be included are:-
Euthanasia
Slave to Freedom
Suzy Smiled
Don't Touch Me There
Wildcatz
The Five track EP will be recorded
late January and be available for
pre-sale exclusively from the Tygers
website/shop in February
www.tygersofpantang.com
We expect to dispatch the EP to
buyers in early March 2010
This will be a Limited Edition of
1000 copies, have new artwork and
will only be available from the
website and Live shows. We will also
be looking at some commemorative
Shirts which will also be sold via
the website from March onwards.
For all enquiries please contact the
Tygers of Pan Tang via the website
contact page.
Thank you for your continued support
as always

We've been using them for some time
now and found them to be incredibly
handy as a compact practice amp when
out on-the-road. With their built-in
'Grrrrrr' control they have a range
of tones from clean to distorted..
all while looking very cool.

Tyger Force Italy
on MySpace
- 22nd September 2009
We're very pleased to announce the very
recent launch of a new Tygers of Pan Tang
myspace site exclusively developed in Italy
by Elia Turra. Elia is a graphic designer,
musician and friend of the band whom we have
worked alongside on Italian stomping
grounds...
The site will help run alongside our new
website and official myspace site acting
kind of like a Street Team Leader to get on
going events of the Tygers directly to our
Italian fans.
Elia has done a fantastic job of the design,
putting his own slant on it very creatively
to say the least. Really do hope you get a
moment to check it out and even time to
leave a comment.

Latest News
- September 2009
Animal Instinct x 2 is now officially
available across the world via both High
Street Retail shops and Online music
sellers. The reviews and feedback have
again been fantastic and we have posted a
lot of these on our
Myspace site so check them out. We were
very concerned on how you the fans would
react to a re-release so soon after the
original release, it was not something that
we had planned. As always we wanted to make
sure you guys were considered hence the
package we came up with. Without going into
too much detail we had to release a
CD/DVD package as we were under some
contractual terms & conditions that needed
to be fulfilled by the band. We would like
to mention however that Angel Air have been
fantastic in the way they have worked
together with the band and we are very proud
of the end result which is not only a much
better quality package than the original, it
is also great value for money. If by any
chance you are struggling getting your hands
on Animal Instinct x 2 an easy solution
is 'Buy it Now' from the
webshop, we have a number of signed
copies for you collectors too. Below is some
older news but it will give you a feel
of how Animal Instinct x 2 was initiated.

An Update from Robb - Spears
Endorsement
Hey
Hey,
As you may know, I currently have an
endorsement deal with Spear Guitars
of Korea. These instruments are
among the very best that I have
played in my 40 years being involved
with music. The versitility and
sound that I am getting from the
guitars are superb and if you check
out the songs on Animal Instinct you
will hear the roar from these
babies. I currently play the,
'Tomcat,' model and you simply must
check it out. The guitars in general
are fantastic value for money, they
have a Fantastic finish, a Unique
shape, 'Paw` inlays in the neck,
American Seymour Duncan humbuckers
fitted as standard and push pull
pots.
Go to
www.spear-guitars.com and check
this lot out, the 'Goods, the prices
and the quality make a spear guitar
an essential purchase, it'll
properly be the best guitar buying
decision you'll make.

Latest News - June 2009
2009 has so far
been a busy year for the Tygers of Pan Tang and
we thought we had a steady plan for the year but
after receiving two phone calls we were thrown
into absolute chaos once again with schedules,
time-scales and more detailed planning meetings
taking place. These two phone calls came from
firstly The Chronicle Newspaper in Newcastle to
record a Whitley Bay FC Wembley Celebration song
(which is available now on free digi download or
on the new Animal Instinct x 2) and secondly
Angel Air Records expressing interest in
releasing a deluxe version of "Animal Instinct".
Both were opportunities that could not be missed
so as always we agreed to the almost
un-achievable projects and knuckle down getting
on with the plan.
The Chronicle
had left it late in contacting us but following
some intervention from a music lover in the
North East of England and friend of the
Journalist involved, they made contact 3 weeks
prior to the final. The bands association with
Whitley Bay comes from the early years when the
band were based there, lived there and never
failed to promote the region in interviews etc.
We immediately booked the recording studio and
set about writing the song. Because of the tight
time scale we thought about re-writing "Live for
the Day" as this has become a live favourite and
has that anthemic chorus changing the title to
"Live for the Bay". We checked out the previous
footie songs by other artists and thought this
would be very different to them. The band wrote
and recorded the song in a week and it was
available for free downloading on Music Glue one
week before the final at Wembley which we are
pleased to say the Team won 2-0. If you have not
heard the song and want this free download you
can check it out by visiting the
Music Glue site.
New Music - Animal Instinct x2

The second call was from our old friend Peter at
Angel Air Records who have released a couple of
Tygers product in the past including "Visions
from the Cathouse and "Live in the Roar" asking
if we would be interested in releasing a deluxe
version of Animal Instinct. After some serious
negotiation we agreed as long as the deluxe
package included some new songs, Some older
classic songs re-recorded and a free DVD with
some of our archived unseen footage from 2007/8.
We did not want to give you just another
standard version of Animal Instinct with
slightly different Artwork but a whole New
Package. With only four weeks to produce all
parts to make this happen the guys did a great
job by getting the recording of the bonus
material recorded. We think we have produced a
product that is great value for money for both
those who have not already bought the album as
well as those loyal fans who have. What also
make this release special is that it is Angel
Air Records 300th Release. The Tygers are back
again to tight schedules and more pressure (we
love it really).
Animal Instinct
x 2 is a deluxe version of Animal instinct and I
have to say we are very excited. We have
slightly different artwork completed as you
would expect, We have two new songs including
something brand new (more later) & "Live for the
Bay", 3 classic tracks re-recorded, the whole of
Animal Instinct and nearly 2 hours of DVD
footage recorded over the last two years. We
will be releasing much more news about this over
the next couple of weeks via an official press
release on our sites and within the media.
Great New Merchandise Available

Merchandise
News now - In the midst of night we raided Robbs
collection of Tygers memorabilia and stole 2
tour shirts for re-production. These are
original shirts from the 1980 UK Tour & 1982
British Tour so you get the original design that
has been transferred by our supplier onto modern
shirts. The 1980 shirt is quite special as it
has been designed to immediately wash to a
vintage feel, what this means is that the design
after one wash will fade slightly giving it an
authentic look and feel. (Please be aware of
this before buying). The shirts are now
available on the Webshop priced £20 + Posting
and are a limited edition of 100 each design.
The Classic
album Cover Designs have now completely sold out
so we thought this would be the natural
progression to move onto Tour Classics. We have
some other ideas for the next line so watch out
for more news to come.
We have
received a lot of enquiries for Back & Beyond 2
so we came up with the following idea. To
celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Wildcat (2010)
we are proposing the next Back & Beyond EP will
include one new song and four/ five tracks
re-worked from the Wildcat album. The EP will be
titled Back2Beyond and we are looking for a
release date of approx. December 2009. We will
only be pressing 500 copies and will sell these
via the Tyger force fanclub first then the
webshop so make sure you are part of the Tyger
Force by dropping us an email via the contact
page on the website. We may do some pre-release
sales and the guys will sign the covers for
collectability but again watch out for updates.
Tour News
On the touring
side we are playing as many countries as
posssible this year with visits to Greece,
Poland, Holland, Germany and we are now planning
more dates in Italy for August and the UK for
September/ October. There is also a possiblilty
of more mainland European dates in October/
November. Please keep checking out the
myspace &
gig guide.
Other News
Animal
Instinct
Animal Instinct
continues to sell well around the world and is
now widely available in the UK, Mainland Europe
and Japan. We have a release date of 23rd
September for the USA and this will be
through our distributor
Redeye.
We are very excited with the initial interest in
the USA and hope that all our fans who have
found it difficult to find the album get their
copies from Redeye, it is also comforting to
know that you will not be paying high import
charges etc. As the album continues to sell more
and more countries are added and we are next
looking at Australia and South America although
we may have some new for Scandinavia too. If you
have not got a copy and you are looking to buy
one please stay away from eBay as there are a
number of Bootleg versions on there that are
inferior quality in terms of sound and artwork.
always buy from a recognised reputable Retailer.
We are now
looking at early 2009 for European Dates and we
hope to be able to confirm shows in Italy,
Greece, Netherlands, Austria and
Scandinavia very soon. Our fan base is worldwide
and we are determined non UK fans do not miss
out on the Tygers. For all the 2008 UK and 2009
European dates the set list has been re-shaped
and extended with some new songs from Animal
Instinct added as well as some more classics.
Please make sure you get your tickets and
support the band live as it promises to be a
great night of Classic Rock music.
Keep In Touch
We will be
looking for Street Team Leaders in all countries
to head up fan sites etc in your own countries
to create that local buzz. This will really help
whan touring and of course you would be part of
that activity as a member of the Touring Party.
If your interested drop us a line on the contact
page.
Finally the
Tygers Force mailing List continues to grow
every month and we are getting both our older
fans and new fans writing in every day. Let me
say its great to have you back on board and hope
you will participate and help spread the word
the Tygers are back. If you are not on the list
simply send an email through the contact page
with a few words on who you are. We like to know
our fans so when we meet its like old friends
re-united.

Early 2009
We
have been busy revamping our Myspace
site for 2009 and you will see there
is a lot more graphics and photos on
there than ever before. We have also
increased the songs on the player to
10 so there is loads of tunes to
listen to whilst reading the blogs
etc. We are closing in now on
100,000 hits to the site and with
your help we will acheive this
landmark figure within the next two
months. Please visit the site
whenever possible to increase the
daily hits. We also want to hear
from you as to what you want to see
on both sites so if you have any
suggestions then please contact us
and we will see what we can do.
You
will note we have added a couple
more festivals for 2009 in the Uk
and Poland and we are still hopefull
of more appearnaces at some of
Europes best metal gatherings. As
for our intentions to get to Holland
and Greece we are still hopefull but
please bare with us. due to the
worldwide credit slump some of the
promoters we were talking to etc are
been a little more cautious to bring
bands over due to the high cost of
touring so negotiations are taking
much longer than expected. We are
also looking for a suitable tour
support slot this year for the UK as
well as headline tour later in the
year.
Back & Beyond 2
We
still have some intention to release
a Back & Beyond 2 through the
fansite Tyger Force so if your not
part of this then email us on the
contact page and we will add you to
the fan club for updates etc. We are
considering Suzie Smiled, Gangland,
Raised on Rock + 2 New tracks. We
will get 500 printed so it will be
another great addtion to your Tygers
collectables.
Forthcoming Merchandise
We
are looking at also re-producing
some older tour shirts from 1980 &
1982 so watch out for these in the
Tygers Web Shop. The classic shirts
have now almost sold out, we have
some odd sizes in Spellbound, Crazy
Nights & Wildcat so please email us
prior to ordering so we can check we
have the size you are wanting. If
you have not got a copy of the New
album Animal Instinct then we are
now selling this on the
web shop too.
Older News
2009 will see the band heading off
straight away to Italy to play four
dates. The last time the band played
Italy they had a great time and you
guys proved you know how to Rock.
The spirit and enthusiasm for the
Tygers in Jacopos homeland is
overwhelming and we hope you will
all come out once again to have a
great time. We have a fantastic
Italian support band in Planet Hard,
plus our old friends Blast Off in
Verona just to get you into the mood
for those early 80s classic NWOBHM
tunes.
For
our fans in Holland we are looking
to get to you in late March early
April. The venues are being booked
now so we should know the dates very
soon. We are also looking at some
shows in Greece which seems to be a
country we can never get to, because
of cancellations but are determined
to play for you guys this year.
There will be other countries played
in 2009 and if you want us to play
your country let us know and we will
do whatever we can to make it
happen.
Looking Back at 2008 we would like
to thank you all for your support
throughout. We set out to achieve
some milestones with a new album,
playing live and generally getting
the Tygers name back in the field of
Classic British Hard Rock. It was
hard work at times with some
frustrations along the way but we
made people aware the band was back.
The response to the new album Animal
Instinct was fantastic by both the
music industry and you the fans and
this inspired the band to keep
trekking the long path of Rock n
Roll. Having a new product opened a
lot of doors which allowed us to
play around the UK and ultimately
Hard Rock Hell 2 (The Dragons Ball)
in December which really was a day
to remember. We played the second
stage to a packed crowd and really
got the message across that the
Tygers were back roaring. We hope
2009 will start and continue as 2008
ended as we believe that we still
have a lot of milage in promoting
Animal Instinct to the many Rock
fans across the world who have not
heard the new material.
UK Tour
After a short break to catch our
breath, we are now back up and
running and ready to close the year
off with some touring and further
promotion of the new album Animal
Instinct. Tour dates for the UK are
now confirmed and listed on the gigs
page. We expect another couple to be
added and these will be listed as
soon as we have confirmation.
For
this tour we wanted to give you the
fans something really special, we
are aware of the current economic
climate out there so if you are to
choose a gig to go to we wanted this
to be it. To give real value for
money we have secured Steve Grimmett
as special guest. For those of you
not familiar with Steve's work he
was the singer for Grim Reaper and
Lionsheart. Following the success of
his latest solo album Personal
Crisis this was a fantastic
opportunity to get another named
artist on the bill.
The
third band and tour support will be
Crimes of Passion who are one of the
best up and coming bands the UK has
to offer, they have recently toured
with White Lion across Europe so
expect them to be one of the
tightest bands around. We have
looked at keeping the ticket prices
as low as possible, however this
will depend on the promoter/venue
but expect them to be less than
£10.00 each.
After such a hectic year, we were
conscious it had been a bit quiet of
late on the News front. We needed to
take a breath and get ourselves
ready for the next step forward.
The planning element that goes into
the bands future is key to its
success and the break has given us
time to agree the next two
years strategy (in theory anyway).
The
album has sold well and we are
getting new and returning fans
coming back every day. We get a
number of emails via the website and
Myspace site suprised that the band
is still a going concern. The press
reviews have been fantastic too,
Geoff Barton of Classic Rock
Magazine gave the album 8/10 and
commented that if he only had enough
money for one album between Def
Leppard's "Welcome to the Sparkle
Lounge", Whitesnake's "Good to be
Bad" and Animal Instinct he would
plump for Animal Instinct. Komodo
Rock website gave the album a 9/10
and others have averaged 8/10. Links
to the individual reviews are
opposite.
We
have some further release dates now
for Japan 23rd July through our
Japanese record label
Avalon Marquee, and the USA on
September 23rd through
Cargo Records. There are still
some countries in Europe that the
album is not frely available, if you
find you cannot get hold of Animal
Instinct then check out
Amazon Worldwide, HMV
or
Cargo Records all of which will
post International.
New Merchandise
We
have added the Full version
DVD of Live at Berlin Studios to
the
Webshop. Some of you bought the
pre-order Animal Instinct that had
the sampler included. The DVD
comes with professional artwork
similar to Animal Instinct and is
the final chapter to the package. It
is limited edition again of 150 and
we have already sold half through
the monthly mailshot. We also still
have a quantity of the much sought
after
EP Back and Beyond available
which is becoming a collectors item
worldwide.
On The Road
Although still yet to be fully
arranged we plan to hit the road
in October & November across the UK,
along with some dates in Europe. In
January we are returning to Italy,
and then onto Scandanavia, Benelux
etc. As soon as I have full Tour
schedules confirmed we will
advertise them on Myspace.
For
our fans in the North East of
England we will be holding a
Christmas Party at Crook Town AFC in
December at which the band will play
some electric material and might do
some songs that we do not
necessarily play live anymore. Its
going to be fun based with some
audience participation. It will be a
great relaxed night to get to know
the Tygers on a social basis. I will
update the site next month with full
details.
Festival Appearances

Some new Festivals have been added
including the 4Bs Festival at
Pickering Showground on September
13th. This will be a two day event
with some fantastic bands also
included.
We are also delighted to have been
invited to play at the Hard Rock
Hell II event at Pontins Prestatyn.
Hard Rock Hell was voted by Metal
hammer as the festival of the year
in 2007 and for those of you who
made it you will know why. A great
weekend with likeminded people
partying and having a good time.
Check out the link to the website
for the last few remaining tickets.

Other news is that the Tygers will
be playing the MetalRock Festival in
Lillehammer Norway in August and the
Monsters of Rock Festival in Malmoe,
Sweden in September, we hope to see
you there. Also Don't forget about
Rock of Ages Festival UK in
September which has to be the best
value for money event this year. We
can get evan cheaper tickets for you
for this event so if you want
tickets contact us via the website
contact page, this is a limited
offer so be quick. There should also
be some more festival appearances
confirmed very shortly.
New Album Finished!

The last three months has been the
busiest time for the Tygers in a
long, long time, there have been
tour dates in both the UK and Italy,
interviews, promotion and lastly the
completion of the new album Animal
Instinct. When an album is complete
you always wonder how it is going to
be received by the fans and media
alike , with Animal Instinct we knew
we had something special that you
would immediately love. The
pre-orders of the album have all
been sent out and the feedback has
been fantastic, there are already
reviews appearing on the internet
and we urge everybody to help spread
the word through various hard rock
websites and the music press that
the Tygers are back, and firing on
all cylinders.
The album will officially be
available in the UK from May 19th
and can be purchased via
cargo as well as several other
online resellers. The Album should
also be available throughout the UK
from HMV so if your local branch in
not stocking the album demand that
they do and let us know. The
promotional activity is also now
stepping up for the European
releases which can be bought from
some on-line CD shops now. The
release dates may vary locally
country to country so we will post
the dates as we officially receive
them. Finally on the Animal Instinct
front we have agreed contracts with
Avalon in Japan to release the album
throughout Asia. This will include a
remastered version of Rock and Roll
man as an exclusive additional
track.
During
April we had the chance to hit the
road to meet our great fans once
again, which included a very
memorable trip to Italy. As you are
aware Jacopo Meille is a resident of
Florence and a born and bred
Italian, this really gives us a
connection with our fans there who
are not only Crazy Rockers but
really carry a spirit like it was in
1980, we would like to thank all
those who came to the shows, and
those who brought their albums for
signing and made us feel so welcome.
We will be back in Italy hopefully
before the end of the year.
Our
return to the UK also gave us the
opportunity to meet up with some old
friends and convert some of our
younger audience. We always get
great feedback in the UK and we
listen to this and try to take on
board your comments. We think we are
almost there with the live set
content although there will be a
couple of additions to add from the
new album and maybe another older
track added. We also listened to the
musical direction you wanted which
was a more Classic Hard Rock, this
was music to our ears (sorry about
the pun) because that was exactly
what we wanted to produce. In the
album sleeve notes, Robb dedicates
the album to you the fans and this
is because you have encouraged and
supported the Tygers for so long and
he wanted you to know that we could
not have produced Animal Instinct
without you.
Live Webcast
The
Tygers of Pan Tang are delighted to
announce that we will be streaming a
live webcast performance across the
Web on Saturday 15th March. This
performance will be absolutely free
and will give everybody a chance to
chat with the band via a webcam link
and/or by email.
We
have been very conscious over the
last six months that we have a great
fanbase worldwide who cannot see the
band play live so we want you to
experience an hour of the currrent
Live Set. This will be a Live
performance in a studio, and will be
mixed before going out giving you
all a great sound as well. Remember
check out the date 14th March, keep
it in your diaries and please get
involved as we love to hear your
feedback.
Tygers Roar into 2008
During 2007 the Tygers resurgence
went from strength to strength and
with the release of the 5 Track EP
Back & Beyond the fans were able to
get their first taste of the musical
direction the band is pursuing. The
feedback was fantastic and the back
to roots hard rock was a real
winner. The new website also went
on-line at the same time and again
the feedback was great, we aim to
update this site the first week
every month. The my-space site
however is constantly updated,
enabling real time news to be
communicated and allowing fans and
other businesses alike access to the
Tygers.
The
Limited Edition of Animal Instinct
will be dispatched the second week
of April 2008, and some latest news
is that we are looking at including
some DVD footage of the band live in
Italy to enhance the package.
One
of the first strategies agreed last
year was to make sure we were
accessible to listen to the fans and
you will experience this at shows as
well, where you will find the band
hanging out at the merchandise stand
or watching the support bands in the
audience. Please come up and say
hello as we really do value your
opinions and comments.
So What Does 2008 Look Like?
In
January the band will complete the
recording of the new album "Animal
Instinct" which will then go for
mixing in February. Ben Matthews of
Thunder who did such a superb job
with the Back & Beyond EP will
undertake this task once again. A
Limited Collectors Edition with a
250 run is now available for
pre-order on the website
shop. This edition will be
signed and numbered and include a
VIP pass which will also be numbered
as per your CD.
We
will make a draw each month and give
away guest passes and prizes. You
will have a 1:10 chance to win which
is pretty good odds. We will also
add some other little items to make
sure the package is complete. I
would expect these to sell pretty
quickly so place your order quick to
avoid disappointment.
On The Road
In
April we will be visiting Italy for
a short four date tour before
returning back to the UK for more
concert dates. Please refer to the
Gigs page and Myspace site for more
details on all shows.
In
May we are confirmed for the
Cliveaid Festival in Birmingham,
this is a fantastic organisation and
such a worthwhile cause.

We are also confirmed for the Rock
of Ages Festival in September and
are pursuing a number of other
festival opportunities for the
summer.
We
are now actively seeking
opportunities to tour throughout the
world to promote the new album and
would welcome any interest from
perspective promoters and venues.
In The Studio
The
band are delighted to announce that
it is now signed to Cargo Records/
Livewire for the release and
distribution of the new album Animal
Instinct worldwide. We had a number
of opportunities to explore but
Cargo fitted our criteria perfectly
with its knowledge and experience of
the Hard Rock Market. It was also
important that the company we chose,
had the right infrastructure and
worlwide partners to handle this
release. We would like to thank
Cargo for their commitment and
enthusiasm to this project.
November will see a further EP
release of Back & Beyond 2, again
similar to the Back & Beyond EP it
will consist of three classic songs
re-worked and a further two brand
new tracks added. It is very
important as a band that we keep
your interest and we intend to do
just that.
It
will be a busy year for the Tygers
and with your support it will be
very memorable.
