Crossfire, Germany (Author: Thorsten Roggenbuck) - Live Blood Album Review

Tygers Of Pan Tang were at the forefront of the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal at the time, but were ultimately never able to achieve the commercial success they deserved. It's all the nicer that the troupe is still active despite a few line-up changes and is presenting a new live recording to the audience these days. This concert was recorded at The Patriot club in Wales. The setlist consists of a balance of old classics and new songs, although there is no noticeable difference in quality. The excellent sound quality suggests that a little work has been done here. That would also explain the rather sparse fade-ins and fade-outs of the audience reactions.

But so be it! Ultimately, “Live Blood” is a very good inventory of the status quo of the current line-up and therefore also proof that the men still have relevance for the scene today. “Live Blood” is also ideal for newcomers. Since the piece is released as a double LP but only as a single CD, we recommend purchasing the vinyl version, as it contains three additional songs that did not make it onto the CD for capacity reasons.
