Live Blood Review
More than 40 years ago I bought
an album with a NWOBHM band, for
the sole reason that the cover
was super cool. The album called
Wild Cat and the band was Tygers
of Pan Tang. I was blown away by
that album without weak tracks.
I followed the band directly
with the album the Cage, which
was too much commercial in my
world.
Now the tigers are on the field
with a live album 'Live Blood'.
Can they still play live is the
question. The answer is 'for
hell” Tygers, how cool is that.
The production is cool, thick
and clear and the energy is
fierce. In my world Tygers are
overlooked but one of the best
NWOBHM bands ever. They play
tight and I was so lucky to see
them live last year and I can
immediately feel same energy and
joy of playing that I saw them
deliver the stage. Their
repertoire is impressive and
tracks like Euthanasia, Keeping
Me Alive, Gangland, Back for
Good, Insanity, Slave To
Freedom, Suzie Smiled, Blood Red
Sky and several are among my
favourite tracks.
This is a superb play; I have
listened to it 2 times now and
in a little while it will have
another turn. I have not the
great love for live albums, but
when the item delivered in a way
that it does here and that the
energy is 100 percent present,
then I love live albums. If you
know Tygers, buy this album with
confidence. Are you new to
NWOBHM? 'the front', then you
are more than 40 years too late,
but are you for good solid
old-school metal, then it's just
a matter of get on the horse.
10/10
