Hi how are things!!! In the
“Bands that never run out of
fuel” section today we have
Tygers of Pan Tang. Precursors
of the NWOBHM, after multiple
changes they are still on the
warpath. Strong and worthy
defending the sound of metal
with this new live release in
which they show us the band's
current sound in a review of
classics from their entire
discography. Will you accompany
me?
This work was recorded in the
summer of 2023 at “The Patriot”
in Wales UK. 16 finely selected
tracks that, after a recorded
intro, attack mercilessly with
“Euthanasia”, a song included in
their first LP from 1980 “Wild
cat”. At least for me it is
wonderful to remember this track
and also listen to it in this
reloaded version.
The essence of metal is more
than evident in this version.
“Keeping me alive” is another
2012 classic from their album
“Ambush”. The cohesion of each
of the members of the group is
notable to provide a completely
compact and robust sound. Old
school rules!!! “Love don't
stay” is another classic of the
band from their famous album
“Crazy nights” from 1981. Truly,
these songs from yesteryear in
the hands of this new lineup
sound so fresh and energetic
that it seems incredible that
they are over 40 years old.
years of publications!!
“Gangland” from the album
“Spellbound” from 81 sounds
uffffff!!! Precise energy, with
rage, mature, totally
overwhelming!! The album looks
excellent!!! The guitars of the
legendary Robb Weir and
Francesco Marras sound
incredible.
“The Edge of the world” is a
song taken from his most recent
work “Bloodlines” from 2023.
Precision wherever you see it. A
song that is also condemned to
be a classic of the band.
“Destiny” appeared on the 2019
album “Ritual.” A very rhythmic
and melodic song. The truth is
that the quality of the band has
not diminished over the years
and they have reaffirmed
themselves as what they are:
true metal warriors!! “Back for
good” is also a song from the
“Bloodlines” of 2023. A song
that meets all the requirements
of authentic heavy metal. The
flag flies high!! “Only the
brave” belongs to the band's
2016 album of the same name.
That guitar riff at the
beginning always impressed me.
The chorus section just grabs
you!! “Paris by the air” is
another classic from 82
contained on the album “The
cage”. Both the old songs and
the new ones are up to par, a
sign of the band's absolute
quality.
Returning to “Crazy nights”
classics we have the energetic
“Do it good”. Forceful is the
word with which I would describe
this piece. Jack Meille's voice
sounds spectacular, so nothing
will disappoint you. “Fire in
the horizon” and “A new
heartbeat” also come on the new
album “Bloodlines”. There is no
doubt that the lineup of Weir,
Meille, Marras, bassist Huw
Holding and drummer Craig Ellis
has produced excellent musical
works. “Suzie smiled” is another
classic from the first album
with which we begin the final
stretch of this work.
“Hellbound” and “Love potion
number 9” close this album in an
imposing way. Energy, precision,
aggressiveness, melody and above
all: power, describe this album
that wherever you find it, do
not hesitate to listen to it.
