The fans have been clamouring for it for years, so Tygers Of Pan Tang finally releases a live album that also includes more recent work. The previous live albums were those with recordings from the John Sykes period from 1981 and an official bootleg from 2004. And in recent years Tygers Of Pan Tang has released several excellent studio albums, which fit in nicely with their earlier work. Something that is clearly audible on this live record. Recent songs such as 'Edge Of The World', 'Back For Good' and 'Fire On The Horizon' do not look out of place among classics such as 'Gangland', 'Euthanasia' and 'Slave To Freedom'. The eighteen tracks plus intro also offer a nice overview of the first four albums and the more recent albums. This 'Live Blood' was recorded at The Patriot in Wales, during last summer's tour. A show where there was clearly an enthusiastic audience and the band was in more than good form. The recordings are also excellent and this sounds like a real live album, not one that took days of tinkering with in the studio afterwards. The guitar work sounds great with Jacopo Meille there has been an excellent singer behind the microphone for years. 'Live Blood' is not boring for a second and clearly shows that this act can be considered one of the leaders of the NWOBHM. Vinyl lovers will be extra spoiled. Anyone who purchases the double IP will receive three extra songs compared to the CD version with 'Slave To Freedom', 'Insanity' and 'Blood Red Sky'.
