In anticipation of their new album, Tygers Of Pan Tang, historical veterans of the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal, give us a small appetizer of the next effort with this EP that demonstrates how the band is still in great shape and peaks as if there was no tomorrow. The two new extracts, "A New Heartbeat" and "Red Mist", are two beautiful bursts of pure adrenaline in which it seems that time and clocks have returned, as if by magic, at the end of the seventies. Our Jacopo "Jack" Meille uses his voice as it is written in rock manuals, reaching, as usual, peaks that are not easy to reach for any mere mortal. Especially in "Red Mist" there is a deep sense of melody in the chorus phrase, without forgetting the murderous riffs that come from the guitars and which are extremely effective. That said, the other two songs featured in this mini, namely "Fireclown" and "Killers" played by the group, were included in "Wild Cat", their debut work dated 1980. In practice it was like putting hand to something solid and make it more youthful and slenderer, without touching or damaging the beauty of the original versions. As a preview of what awaits us, then we can safely say that our mouth is watering. Now we have to wait a few more weeks, before having the next full album of the band in our hands, which at this point promises to be very appetizing.
