What did the TYGERS OF PAN TANG
do when the world was closed?
Well, quite a few things
actually. To start, a new
guitarist, Francesco Marras, and
a new bass player, Huw Holding,
were recruited. They were also
proud to receive an award from
Hard Rock Hell as winners in the
NWOBHM section. And... as if
that weren't enough, they wrote
and demoed their next album and
produced a new four-track E.P.
The EP. includes two re-recorded
tracks from their debut album
“Wild Cat” and two new tracks.
'Fireclown' and 'Killers' from
'Wild Cat' now firmly bear
Francesco's musical imprint and
new tracks 'A New Heartbeat' and
'Red Mist' demonstrate what can
be expected from Tygers' next
album – the signature Tygers
sound with heavy-as-hell riffs,
finger-tying solos and Jack
Meille's extraordinary vocals.
Mixing was done by Marco Angioni
at Angioni Studios and, as with
all recent Tygers releases,
mastering was done by Harry
Hess. The release initially
comes as a digipak CD and will
only be available in physical
form through Tygers' website and
directly from their Mighty
Music/Target Group record label.
A vinyl version will follow.
Robb Weir said: "'Fireclown' and
'Killers' are very overlooked
Tygers gems. They are rarely
played in concert but often
requested. So we thought it
would be interesting to hear a
modern take on these tracks.
Visiting the past brings back so
many memories for us and, I
imagine, for Tygers followers.”
Jack Meille added: “Lockdown may
have stopped us playing live but
it couldn't dampen the creative
momentum that resulted in the
creation of 'A New Heartbeat'
and 'Red Mist' for this single”
.
The EP “A New Heartbeat” will be
released digitally, and on CD
digipack (along with the vinyl
version to be released later
this year) on February 25, 2022
via Mighty Music.
It's on sale exclusively now at
Targetshop.dk and the group's
online store.
